It's a rainy, dreary day in NYC...perfect for staying warm and dry in the cavernous Pier 94 expo center. It was crowded this morning...lots of decor-a-teurs with their way too stylish downtown modes, and a sprinkling of UESers who looked like they spent too long getting dressed for "the show", and for not a few, I wasn't sure if they thought Halloween was this weekend: some very odd outfits, even for NYC. Great people watching.

I scoured the aisles twice, it was crowded but I really didn't see much buying going on, some $20s being exchanged for plates, but it was Saturday morning, and the prices were still high. Fashion Alley was jammed, I saw alot of interest at the sunglass and purse booths, and quite a few shoppers had over-size wheelies with them to haul home their finds.

My favorite booth without doubt was Mantiques Modern from NYC: I'd actually read about the shop specializing in man-antiques, but have never been there. I had my eye on a glass statue of a camera...a little too $$$ for me...but there was enough traffic in the booth that I could barely get my questions answered. I'd check back there again. http://www.mantiquesmodern.com/
