Lunch in Paris

by Moi

No, I’m not lunching in Paris today (I will be soon!) but that’s the fab title of a new memoir by an American woman who has fallen in love with Paris…and a Frenchman…and French cooking.

Mark your calendar if you are in NYC on April 7 – Elizabeth Bard will be  at Barnes and Nobles to discuss her new book, Lunch in Paris: A Love Story, with Recipes.

Lunch in Paris

Last month I received a tip from The Antiques Diva, who heard Elizabeth give a reading at WHSmith in Paris:

I walked into WH Smith in Paris, dipping inside to pick up a magazine “en anglais” and bumped right into Elizabeth Bard. “Want a financier?” she asked offering me a nibble from the basket and she launched into a story how a former professor turned novelist always baked before readings as she knew how to throw cocktail party’s and baking made the book readings feel more natural… Before I’d even tasted the treat, she had me at “Bonjour”.

Elizabeth Bard is natural. Her reading was charming and she a delight… Having attended numerous readings over the years she was the most humble down to earth and accessible author I’ve met! -I’ve barely cracked the spine on the book and yet I’m certain Bard is about to become one of my favorite Parisians! As soon as I learned she was coming to New York, I whipped out my Blackberry to let She’s Shopping Now know about this must attend NYC event!

Love and Food in Paris should be YOUR title, with the signature CR. Have always said it, will continue to say it.
Takes commitment but the time IS there !!!!!
