I substitute the Aunt Jemima buttermilk pancakes for the complicated ebelskiver recipe. They&#039;re not quite as fluffy and airy, but they taste really good! I think the buttermilk recipe is fluffier than the regular.

But yes, you do need the ebelskiver special pan. Its the only way to make the round little donuts!
